Description

WIP of my favorite Dres slaver ^^ he is such a grumpy poop.
This picture is originally planned as a fullbody, but I am not quite sure about the colouring style and how it all looks...
keep in mind it is a work in progress and the more you go down the body the less time I spend on drawing it ^^'''

he has a name now, Ildren. Thats him, too. and that is his son, my dovahkiin I played in skyrim.

I have to admit, although I'm not into this style myself, I absolutely love it when it's done right. It reminds me a bit of Dante's Inferno with its Comic-Style storytelling sequences.
And yeah, trust me, you got this one right. The strong colors and contrasts go really well with the slightly exaggerated features, like expression or gear. (For a realistic piece that pauldron would be too huge, for example). I believe, I like his face best, his stare pretty much sums up how I feel after a day of work :P
Then, I also like the fact that you took the time to paint details on his clothing and body, like all the rings and ornaments and all that stuff that I can't name properly. Tbh, I never have the nerve to paint sth like that. Now while that's something I admire, it can also be quite exhausting for the eye. With all the details and contrasts there is almost no place for the eye to rest which makes it impossible to look at this picture for a longer period of time (at least for me). Sometimes it is good to create such "resting spots" on the figure, where you'd have a bigger area, that you'd just leave blank(meaning, without many details). In your piece that could be the pauldron. You could draw it without the texture, say, make it a steel or leather pauldron, and you'd just have light falling onto a blank material, nothing too fancy.
